Catcher in the ‘ster

Is it completely lame that my list of favorite people right now are between the ages of 16 and 20? I am not one to be mom-like, but I am anti-stupid people. Like Holden Caulfield in “Catcher in the Rye,” I aim to inspire these “kids” at the store and point them to the right direction before they get to my age, the 20’s. Hearing “I’m not going to school right now” really bothers me, given that I was raised in a family that highly values education. Given the status of my peers, we don’t need anymore people to be “lost.” There’s always an exit strategy, if not a preventative one. None of the other managers at work are exactly in the comfortable position to do this so I’m taking on an extra role in addition to my title: “the catcher.”
